One of the biggest problems many people face is CRAVINGS. Am I right?
Hey it happens to all of us… We think we are pretty strong until that piece of cheese cake is staring at us
Cravings don’t just happen because they can though..
They happen for a reason. And just as there is a reason why you get them, you can give your body a reason NOT to get them. Interesting twist huh?
You see, the foods we are SUPPOSED to eat and way we are SUPPOSED to eat should satisfy us and keep us full for hours. But we don’t eat the foods we should and we don’t eat the way we should do we?
Processed foods…
Processed salt…
Foods with low water content…
Sugary foods…
High GI foods…
These food groups cause your body to send ‘weird’ signals to your brain that make you BELIEVE you are hungary when you are not. When we eat foods that are not nutrient rich or we can describe them as ‘empty calories’ – our bodies respond with powerful cravings, nasty mood swings, and energy imbalances.
Not good.
There are 3 things that will stop your cravings.
1. The type of foods you eat
2. How you combine these foods.
2. Nutrient and meal timing
Obviously, we cant go into every factor and every food, but let me give you a great example for today’s lesson that I constantly use with my personal clients that nearly always gets results.
“The DOUBLE F CRAVINGS Controller”
This strategy is simple. Combine foods that have all three nutrients (protein, carbs, and fats) however make sure the meal is high in omega 3 fats and fiber content. FAT AND FIBER.
This strategy has many benefits like firing up your fat burning hormones among many others however implement it and see if you still get those nasty cravings 20 minutes after you eat. (Hint: you wont)
You wont even feel like cramming down that chocolate bar you’ve had your develish little eyes on.
Give it a go and notice the results.
Also, one more thing i’d like you to be aware of when following this tip. When you get rid of empty calorie foods, sugary, salty and processed foods – it taked a while for your body to adjust. In other words, there is a lag. So don’t be one of those people that doesnt give new things time to work.
I’ve found with my clients that between 1-3 days, most people still get some cravings etc. However after this period, once your body has been ‘purified’ so to speak – you will start FEELING different.
So again, with this strategy and every other technique for changing yourself, you need to give it time.
Les Brown – a great motivational speaker said something that I really use to this day when I’m battling new obstacles or training others to battle obstacles.
His message is basically that whenever you are going to another level in your life or expanding your body, mind etc… you are going to hit a little turbulance. Like a plane when it is elevating – it experiences a little bumpy conditions until it reaches it cruising altutude. It is the same thing when you are reaching a new goal and becoming better in some way.
So hold on in there until the turbulance is over, for when it is – you will enjoy the fruits of your labor. I promise.
